Build Your Happy Place: Paper House Designing

Transform a simple house design into a place that feels like “home”. Children will be asked to think about questions such as: What makes your home feel cozy and welcoming? What aspects of your home make you feel happy? What do you miss about your home when you’re on a trip? Using a variety of creative materials, artist-in-residence, gino romero will guide families into translating their ideas, memories, and feelings into imagery to incorporate into their unique paper house.

Illuminating Home: A Lantern-Making Workshop

Join us for a guided art-making experience led by artist-in-residence gino romero, inspired by their work, i built a home just for us. Designed for adult audiences, participants will be invited to transform provided house templates into pop-up paper lanterns that whimsically capture the essence of home. Using X-Acto knives, assorted die cut paper, and glue, romero will guide participants through techniques to incorporate depth and color into their take-home creations.

Drop in for this art-making workshop to explore what “home” means to you, led by artist-in-residence, gino romero. Using house templates and various media, participants of all ages will be invited to recreate and reimagine the places they hold most dear. After decorating their templates, participants will be guided through an assembly process to turn their two-dimensional house into a three-dimensional structure–a personalized version of romero’s i built a home just for us–to then take home.
