Allison Green

Allison Green grew up in rural Vermont. Taught traditional fiber craft from an early age, her lifelong engagement with fabric became a multidisciplinary career. Green holds a BA with honors in art history from Skidmore College, where she received student grant funding for her independent study on historical undergarments. She came to New York in 2016 to build costumes at Sleep No More, and at Parsons Meares Ltd. Broadway productions include Phantom of the Opera, Hamilton, and Moulin Rouge.

Green continues artmaking for stage and screen, while maintaining a studio practice. Recent projects include costume and props for Sesame Street from its Emmy Award winning 53rd season to present, prop and scenic for the Macy’s Herald Square Holiday Windows, and scenic and puppetry on Marcel Dzama’s “To Live on the Moon (For Lorca)” at the Performa Biennial. Green attended The Vermont Studio Center residency in 2023 and the SVA Summer Residency Program in 2024. She won The Art Students League of New York’s Nessa Cohen Sculpture Grant for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024. Her work has been in exhibitions including EDEN Studio (Chelsea NYC), Culture Lab (Long Island City, NYC) Collar Works (Troy NY), and Women Made Gallery (Chicago IL)
