Artists
Artist-in-Residence Program
Art on the Block NYC aims to support local artists without gallery representation who are not only interested in working in their studio but also engaging with the public to make art more accessible. Each year we host 5 artists-in-residence at our Upper West Side storefront for a 5 week residency.
The application for 2026 residencies is now closed.
Art & Engagement Fellowship
The Art on the Block NYC Art & Engagement Fellowship aims to further the careers of promising early career artists through mentorship, training, and exhibition opportunities. Over three months, participants will meet biweekly in-person to learn from curators, exhibition designers, museum educators, and museum and gallery professionals, culminating in a group exhibition in August 2026. With an emphasis on community engagement and public display, the fellowship will train artists in demystifying their work to the public and developing a practice focused on fostering creative community.
